The braking system of your vehicle is the most important factor giving you control and command for the safety of your passengers and others sharing the road with you.
Oddly enough, the braking system is frequently overlooked and can deteriorate with fading performance before many drivers notice a problem.
When checking engine oil always verify the brake fluid level is correct. Have your brake pads checked with each oil change along with a complete safety inspection.
When the brake pads are replaced the rotors must be “turned” to insure a full 100% contact with the pads. After a number of brake jobs the rotors may become too thin require replacement.
The Master Cylinder is activated when you put your foot on the brake. Hydraulic pressure travels to the brake caliper and forces a cylinder to press the brake pads against the rotor which slows and stops the wheel.
Are you brakes making a squeaking, squealing or grinding sound?
